Yulia Plakhutina has joined UNESCO Regional Health Education Programme for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) in 2012 to contribute to building of then-nascent sexuality education landscape in the region. Over a span of 10 years of her progressively responsible experience with UNESCO, Ms. Plakhutina conceptualized, developed and launched numerous projects on comprehensive sexuality education, bullying prevention and adolescent development, aimed at various audiences, including youth, educators, youth experts, parents and general public, with overall reach exceeding 15+ million clients/users. Her particular professional interest lies in the area of ICT-based solutions and online media in health education.
Currently Ms. Plakhutina is enrolled in Master’s Degree Program in Global Development Practice at Harvard University. Earlier, Ms. Plakhutina received a double Master’s degree in Sociology from St. Petersburg State University (Russia) and Bielefeld University (Germany).
